10:00 am - Mother Lode Scots will be walking the historical Main Street Jackson, viewing 200 cars and trucks (1980s and older) - Rain or shine.

11:00 am - Mother Lode Scots will meet up at the new 1848 Saloon (105 Main Street). Have grub and a pint there if you’d like.

MLS Ceilidh - Sutter Creek Duck Race

Wouldn't it be great if a Mother Lode Scot member's duck won the 2nd Annual Return of the Great Sutter Creek Duck Race.  On race day, Minnie Provis Park in Sutter Creek will be full of your favorite local organizations, offering food and drink, live music, games and activities for kids and adults.

Proceeds from the Duck Race will go into the Sutter Creek Community Benefit Foundation Duck Race Project Fund. The major project for the 2026 event will be critical structural repairs to the Monteverde Store and Museum.

$5 for 1 Duck or $20 to adopt a team of 5 Ducks. Click for more information and how to adopt a duck or two or ten. 🙂

Calaveras Celtic Faire

VISIT the Mother Lode Scots booth and the Mother Lode Scots will be co-hosting the Highland Games segment of the event!

The 40th Annual Calaveras Celtic Faire returns with one of the Largest and Biggest Celtic Events on the West Coast! Celebrating the cultures of Brittany (Breizh), Cornwall (Kernow), Wales (Cymru), Scotland (Alba), Ireland (Éire), Isle of Man (Mannin, or Ellan Vannin) Galicia (Galiza), and Asturias, (Asturies)

We are welcoming back the Imperial Knights Tournament of Champions!
Imperial Knights Production Company produces an exciting medieval tournament with spectacular stunts on horseback, jousting and top-of-the-line, hand-to-hand combat with a variety of medieval weapons, cheer on your favorite knight!

We pride ourselves on our sword fighting and heavy armor jousting capabilities. With practice and hard work, we get better every day. Don’t miss any of the excitement when the Imperial Knights take the field!

Friday is an educational day for families and students. No alcohol is served, because it is a day for cultural and historical learning. See schedule for educational entertainment and exploring.

This year our Chief, Jacob Sands has been selected as Santa for the Sutter Creek Parade of Lights

Join with the Mother Lode Scots as his many reindeer.

Don’t have to be a member to join us as we walk downtown in lighted antlers wearing Scottish garb.

The more lights the better for this fun event.

Meet up at the Sutter Creek Post Office by 5:30 pm to join in. Parade starts at 6 pm.

LUMBERJACK DAY 2025 in West Point, CA

(Mother Lode Scots will be meeting up to watch the parade and meet up again to watch the logging show).

Schedule of events

7:00 am Pancake Breakfast at Veteran’s Memorial Hall, 22253 State Hwy 26, across from the Red Church.  

8:30 am Soap Box Derby - Main Street. Begins at the Post Office. 

9:00 am Flower Show Open at the Community Garden by the VFW.

9:00 am Car and Motorcycle Show on Main Street. 

9:00 am Booths Open - including the Covenant Church Ladies Missionary Pie Booth. 

9:30 am - Lumberjack King and Queen Announcement at the Judges stand.

11:00 am 50th Annual CHSA, Lumberjack Day Parade

Parade commences, a Calif State Horseman's Assn. sanctioned event. Parade begins at the top of Main street and Hwy 26 continues down main and turns left on Pine St back to Hwy 26.

12:00 noon Childrens' Area Opens after parade on Main Street

12:00 noon Petting Zoo and Entertainment

Petting Zoo across from Willows on Main.

Live Music by The Blowbacks at the Community Garden Stage. The Blowbacks are a popular dance band featuring a 12 piece horn section

1:00 pm Logging Show

The Logging Show begins in the festival area. Signups are taken in the morning. You may enter that day. Please provide your own safety equipment, goggles, gloves, etc. Overall, there are more than $5000 in cash prizes awarded in 16 categories.

1:00 pm Horseshoe Tournament - over on the West side of the fire house heading towards cemetery lane. Everyone is welcome to participate.

1:00 pm Parade Award Ceremony - Awards Ceremony for all parade entries takes place at the BMCYF Community Garden Stage.

3:00 pm Motorcycle and Car Show Awards - on Main Street.

3:00 pm Raffle Award Winners Announced from the Logging Show and Lions Club.  

5:00 pm the 50th Lumberjack Day is officially closed.

Hard hitting Irish folk, Gold Rush, Sea music that celebrates the rich stories of the immigrants and working class that build America.

This band includes the founder of the Calaveras Celtic Faire. The Mother Lode Scots has a long supportive history with this Calaveras County band.

The 159th Annual Scottish Gathering and Games in Pleasanton, CA

A Bay Area tradition since 1866, California's largest and longest-running Scottish Games celebrates the very best of Scottish competition, culture and entertainment for all the family to enjoy. 

The 159th Scottish Highland Gathering & Games features the 2025 Women’s Scottish Heavy Athletics World Championships, along with the 49th annual U.S. Scottish Heavy Athletics Championships for both men and women.

Other traditional events to look out for include Scottish Highland dancing, piping and drumming, and soccer competitions. Live entertainment will showcase Scottish folk musicians, Celtic rock bands, Scottish country dancing, living history demonstrations, birds of prey, and Celtic animal exhibitions. 

Each day, the Grandstand Show will present the Games’ opening and closing ceremonies, featuring special guest military and pipe bands, as well as the spectacular Massed Bands – where hundreds of pipers and drummers perform together in an unforgettable display.
